Investment Management in Atlantic Highlands
We manage your portfolio so every dollar has a job. Some money is meant for retirement in twenty years, some for tuition in five. We set each account up for its purpose, watch it closely and adjust before small drift turns into a real problem.

What investment management means with us
Investment management is the ongoing work of choosing, monitoring and adjusting what you own. Picking funds once is only the start. Markets move, your life changes and a portfolio that fit you three years ago can quietly stop fitting.
We start with your goals, not with products. Once we know what the money is for and when you will need it, we build an allocation that matches, then keep it there through rebalancing and regular reviews. Our advisor is Series 7, Series 66 and SIE licensed, so the trading, the advice and the account work all come from someone qualified to handle them.
Many clients come to us after years of collecting accounts: an old 401(k), a brokerage account opened on a whim, a spouse's IRA. We bring those pieces into one clear picture, so you can see what you own and why.
What the work includes
- A goal for every account
- We sort your money by purpose and timeline. Funds you need soon are invested differently from funds meant to grow for decades.
- An allocation you understand
- We explain the mix of stocks, bonds and cash in plain terms, including how it might behave in a bad year. You should never own something you cannot describe.
- Rebalancing on a schedule
- When one part of the portfolio grows faster than the rest, your risk quietly rises. We trim and add back to your target so the portfolio stays the one you agreed to.
- Tax-aware placement
- Where an investment is held can matter as much as what it is. We look at which holdings belong in taxable, tax-deferred and Roth accounts, and coordinate with our tax management work when it helps.
- Consolidating scattered accounts
- We help you review old workplace plans and stray accounts, and move them where it makes sense, so nothing gets forgotten.
- Regular reviews
- We meet with you at our office or by phone and video to go over performance, changes in your life and anything you want to rethink.
Signs it is time for a second set of eyes
You are not sure what you own
If your statements list funds you could not explain to a friend, that is worth fixing. Holdings you do not recognize often duplicate each other or carry more risk than you meant to take.
Your accounts are spread out
When your money sits at three or four different firms, no single statement shows the whole picture. The same stocks can show up twice while whole parts of the market go missing, and nobody notices.
Retirement is getting closer
The years just before and after you stop working are when a sharp drop does the most damage. That is the time to decide how much risk you still need.
You react to every headline
If market news tempts you to sell everything or chase the latest winner, a written plan with clear reasons can help you hold steady.
A big change just happened
An inheritance, the sale of a business, a divorce or a new child all change what your money needs to do.
What affects the cost
We do not quote a number before we know your situation, because two portfolios of the same size can need very different amounts of work. We explain how we are paid in plain terms during the first meeting, so nothing surprises you later. These are the things that move it.
Size of the portfolio
The amount of money we manage is usually the biggest factor in what ongoing management costs.
Number and type of accounts
Several IRAs, a trust account and a business retirement plan take more coordination than one brokerage account.
Complexity of your holdings
Concentrated company stock, older positions with large gains or inherited assets take extra planning to unwind carefully.
How much planning you want alongside
Some clients want investment management only. Others pair it with financial planning, retirement planning or legacy planning, which adds scope.
How we get started
- 1
Introductory meeting
You call and we set up a first conversation. We talk about your goals, your worries and what you have now. There is no pressure to move anything.
- 2
Review what you own
You bring recent statements and we go through each account. We point out overlap, concentrated positions and anything that does not match what you told us you want.
- 3
Build the plan
We propose an allocation for each goal and walk you through it, including how we are paid. You decide whether to go ahead.
- 4
Ongoing management
Once accounts are set up, we monitor, rebalance and meet with you on a regular schedule, and sooner if your life changes.

Investment management questions
Can you manage some of my accounts and leave the rest where they are?
Yes. We can review everything you own and take on only part of it to start. Some workplace plans have to stay with your employer, and we can still advise on how that money is invested so it fits the rest of your portfolio.
How often will I hear from you?
We hold regular reviews and reach out when something in your portfolio or your plan needs a decision. You can call us any time a question comes up or your life changes.
What happens to my portfolio when the market drops?
We do not promise to avoid losses, and no honest advisor can. What we do is set your risk level in advance, keep money you need soon in steadier holdings and rebalance with a plan instead of reacting in the moment.
What licenses does your advisor hold?
Our advisor holds the Series 7, Series 66 and SIE licenses. Together they cover buying and selling securities for clients and giving investment advice.
Can you work with me if I live outside Atlantic Highlands?
Yes. We meet clients from Red Bank, Middletown, Rumson and nearby towns at our office, and many prefer to meet by phone or video.
